Best to not risk it, Jim.  They may say that they're doing God's work, but they may actually be running a scam and bypassing God himself.

My suggestion is to deliver your cheque directly to God via burnt offering.

Note:  There are precedents for this listed in Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus, and a methodology is spelled out clearly in Ex27. It probably wouldn't hurt to include a note telling God which mission you'd like him to spend the money on.

As a courtesy, maybe you could send a note to the televangelists to inform them of delivery direct to God, explaining that you've left the choice of investment up to him.

If the money never leaves your account, you can safely presume that God wished to invest in you.
