Ask the Patriarch 132
I want to be a part of your site

I believe that I am agnostic, but I am unsure. You say "we don't know and we don't care" but I feel I don't know and I do care. There is no way of knowing if god really exists, but I feel guilty for not wanting to know. if there was a way to know, I'd like to.

I want to be a part of your site, and beliefs. but I don't 100% agree with everything. because its not that I don't care, its just that I really don't know. so I chose not to say that I believe in anything, because it can't be proven.

What do you think?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

The Patriarch replies:

Jaastina:

Thank you for writing.

There is no problem with you considering yourself an agnostic. You recognize that we do not know that God exists and that is sufficient. You are an agnostic.

You just are not an "apathetic agnostic" and you do not have to agree with our little modification to basic agnosticism. Nor do you have to agree with everything that is on the site. There is a lot here that is controversial and open to discussion.
