A real tree for Christmas may be good for the environment

It might be if this recent study is correct. Young, growing trees absorb more carbon than mature trees, already grown. This indicates that chopping down trees and planting new ones could be better for the environment than leaving the old trees alone. (Of course, what happens to your Christmas tree when you're done with it? Burn it?!)
If this was so, then buying Christmas trees from forests specially grown to provide them could be good for the environment.
