Imagine a culture that celebrates the power of people working together, not a culture that celebrates the alleged superiority of extraordinary individuals, but a culture that celebrates the power of cooperation and collaboration, a culture that extols the strength of dozens of people working together side by side to raise a barn in a day, a culture that exalts the power of hundreds of people cooperating to build skyscrapers, arenas and bridges.
Imagine a culture that celebrates the power of humans cooperating and collaborating, a culture that appreciates the marvel of modern cities, people building structures and networks, other people maintaining them, people organizing events and projects, people providing the necessities of life, people cleaning up everything, thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people going about their business while simultaneously sustaining the city’s life and energy.
Imagine a culture that celebrates the power of people working together, a culture that recognizes humanity reaching into space, humanity putting footprints on the moon and machines on Mars, a culture that recognizes humanity can reach into the heavens because people are willing to work together, people are willing to cooperate and collaborate to fulfill an extraordinary vision, a vision our ancient ancestors could not even begin to imagine.
Imagine a culture that celebrates the ability of people to work together to achieve a goal greater than any single human could possible accomplish in a hundred years, a culture that acknowledges people can build on the successes of their parents and grandparents, a culture that recognizes people from diverse nations and diverse cultures can work together to build an international space station, a culture that recognizes people will cooperate and collaborate because they have a common goal, a common vision of what they wish to achieve, and they are willing to synchronize their personal ambitions with the greater good.
Imagine a culture that understands the success of the greatest civilizations is not the glorious achievement of one or two extraordinary humans, but the achievement of millions upon millions of people spanning multiple generations, the achievement of millions upon millions of people building upon the accomplishments of their parents and grandparents.
Have your say...
