"These people view the Flintstones as a documentary!"

It still amazes me that we have people who question the existence of evolution. Including a moronic former President of the USA. Of course, these tend to be the same folks who drive around with bumper stickers procaiming "The Bible said it, I believe it, and that settles it!" Which of course proves nothing more than a mindless acceptance of a big old honking fairy tale. I recently saw a Lewis Black stand-up routine in which he derided those who believe that dinosaurs and man walked the earth at the same time, saying "These people view the Flintstones as a documentary!"
To those who say "Evolution can't be true because, if we descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" let me remind you that we are not reported to have descended from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with monkeys. And when you look at the state of human affairs these days, it kind of makes you wonder which represents the higher stage of development.
And remember that evolution occurs in response to changes in environment and living conditions. Mankind has managed to combat these changes through air conditioning, central heat, and other protections against the elements. Although, when you look at the rapidly expanding American waistline, he hasn't successfully conquered all environmental influences, has he?
