Meditation 500

I got a message, unfortunately too incoherent to publish in Talk Back, which essentially suggested I was egotistical and arrogant to have this web site daring to deny god, and that by doing so I was setting myself above god. It's not the first time I got such a message, and I don't expect it to be the last.

Am I egotistical?

I don't think I could have done this for 10 years and published 500 Meditations, most of them written by me, not to mention what I have written in other sections of the site, unless I had a fairly healthy ego.

But still...

Is this as egotistical as those who think god has chosen to reveal himself to them personally?

Is this as egotistical as those who definitively tell us precisely what god wants us to do?

Is this as egotistical as those who feel empowered to kill in god's name?

I prefer the ego that lets me say, with confidence, "I don't know" than the type of ego that allows a person to be absolutely certain about god and god's desires.
